Whales & Waves: Citizen Science

Humpbacks, paddleboards and proper conservation – for beginners

Built for people who want a genuine conservation experience without the commitment of a full research programme. Ten days of guided whale encounters, mangrove exploration, ghost-net removal and evening talks from our marine biologists.

Who it’s for

Complete beginners. Solo travellers, couples, families, and groups of friends. You need to be a confident enough swimmer for paddleboarding; that’s about it.

Daily life

  • Guided humpback-watching with simple behavioural data collection.
  • Stand-up paddleboarding alongside the whales when conditions allow.
  • Seahorse and mangrove estuary exploration.
  • “Trash to Trade” coastal cleanups and ghost-net removal.
  • Evening talks from marine biologists over dinner.
  • Optional dive safaris for certified divers (or willing beginners).

Where you’ll stay

A small beachfront lodge with ensuite bathrooms, a plunge pool, sundeck and direct ocean views. Filtered drinking water, chef-prepared meals, all dietary needs accommodated.
